Senada Sali, the Legal Director of the European Roma Rights Centre, shares her personal journey and work in strategic litigation. She discusses the importance of fighting for equality and justice, drawing from her own experiences as a child raised by a single parent who was a victim of domestic violence. Senada explains that strategic litigation aims to bring about structural change and addresses issues such as housing, education, sexual and reproductive rights, and access to identity documents. She also highlights the challenges of intersectionality and anti-gypsyism in the legal field and emphasises the importance of involving Roma communities in the litigation process. This series of interviews, part of the Visual Archive of the Romnja Feminist Library, focuses on reclaiming our stories and challenging the stereotypes that silence us. By sharing these narratives, we aim to highlight the strength and diversity of Romani women, offering varied perspectives on feminism and social justice.
