Founded in 2023 by Alba Hernández Sánchez and Aldessa Georgiana Lincan, the Romnja Feminist Library is a platform for knowledge production that centers the past, present, and future of Roma Feminism worldwide.

Our mission extends beyond being a mere repository of information, we aim to create spaces for Romani women and girls and to give visibility to the multitude of Romani women writers, researchers, activists, students and girls who face challenges in publishing their work within an industry predominantly dominated by white men.

As a platform for knowledge, our library offers a curated collection of resources that reflect the diverse perspectives and experiences of Romani women. We encompass a variety of mediums, including books, research papers, articles, and multimedia content, all dedicated to exploring Romani feminist thought. Our goal is to foster dialogue, critical thinking, and collective action within the Romani community and beyond.

We recognize the need for greater visibility and recognition of Romani women’s contributions. By amplifying their voices and sharing their stories, we aim to challenge the existing norms and biases that hinder their representation. By working together, we can challenge stereotypes, dismantle barriers, and foster a society that values the principles of Roma Feminism.

As we celebrate the resilience, achievements, and heritage of Romani women, we stand in solidarity and collaboration. By centering Romani feminism and uplifting marginalized perspectives, we aim to dismantle oppressive systems and structures. Our collective efforts forge a path towards a more equitable society, honouring the diversity of Romani experiences and advancing the cause of Roma Feminism.
